Inward: A Low Dose 5-MeO-DMT Sound Bath
A gentle, low dose of 5-MeO-DMT inside a live sound bath, in a yurt just outside Victoria.
Next Inward: Saturday, November 21, 2026 · 4 to 7 pm · Ravenbrook Yurt
Inward is a three-hour evening in a yurt just outside Victoria: a gentle, low dose of 5-MeO-DMT, taken through a snuffer rather than smoked, inside a live sound bath. Up to twelve people, two facilitators, and you choose your own depth at every step. It's the softest way I know to meet this medicine, and a beautiful refresh if you've met it before.

Who comes to Inward
- People meeting 5-MeO-DMT for the first time, who want a gentle introduction rather than a deep dive.
- People who've had a big experience, here or elsewhere, and want to revisit the medicine softly, with sound to hold them.
- People who are nervous about psychedelics, including some who've found other psychedelics too much. The low dose, the slow onset and the company all help.
- People who'd rather sit with the medicine in community than alone.
You don't need experience with sound baths, meditation or psychedelics. You do need to read "Is Inward right for you?" below before booking.
How the evening goes
- Opening circle (30 to 45 minutes): introductions and intentions, an overview of 5-MeO-DMT and how the ceremony works, touch and consent, the sound tools and scents, and a practice run with the snuffer
- Dosing (30 minutes): the sound bath begins and the first dose is offered, with check-ins at 10 and 20 minutes if you'd like a booster
- Sound bath (60 minutes): bowls, drum, didgeridoo, rainstick, tuning forks, rattles, koshi and swinging chimes
- Closing circle (30 minutes): optional sharing, cleanup, and heading home
Past gatherings: July 4 and September 19, 2026

The sound
Expect the full range of sound bath vibrations: singing bowls, drum, didgeridoo, monochord, shaker, rainstick, tuning forks and koshi chimes. The sound is there to hold you, so you can let go and simply receive.
Navigating your depth
The classic smoked 5-MeO-DMT experience has its place, but Inward is different. We offer snuffed 5-MeO-DMT, taken through handmade arbutus wood snuffers. With this gentler nasal method, the medicine comes on over about ten minutes rather than ten seconds, which makes the experience softer, subtler and much easier to navigate.
The ceremony begins with a small first dose, followed by two optional booster rounds. You choose at every step. You can stay with a minimal dose and let the sound wash over you, or gently go a little further if you feel called. Most people are back to baseline within about an hour. All medicine is optional.
What a low dose can feel like
At the low doses we work with, people often describe a subtle tingling or energy moving through the body, a deep release of muscle and joint tension, and a sense of introspection or emotional release that doesn't feel overwhelming. Some describe it as a soft, grounding sense of unity. It's a very different experience from the full "breakthrough" doses many people have heard about. Synthetic medicine only
We work only with pure, lab-tested synthetic 5-MeO-DMT, never toad secretion. Toad secretion isn't suitable for snuffing, because it contains other toxic compounds that are only broken down by heat when smoked. Synthetic medicine is also kinder to the Sonoran Desert toad. You can read more on Synthetic vs Toad Medicine.
Is Inward right for you?
Inward isn't for everyone. Please read Safety & Screening before booking. In short:
- Medications to avoid: lithium, 5-HTP, tramadol, MAOIs (such as selegiline or phenelzine), the antibiotic linezolid, and harmala (Syrian rue). Certain antidepressants are a concern too, and others may soften your experience, so tell us everything you take and we'll go through it with you.
- Not suitable if you have: a heart condition, a serious mental health history (such as psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or a personality disorder), or if you're pregnant.
If you're unsure, reach out before booking and we'll talk it through.

Your facilitators
I'm Brendon. I offer private 1:1 5-MeO-DMT ceremonies through Cosmic Otter Offerings. I completed Toad School, a workshop on 5-MeO-DMT facilitation, in 2022, and since then I've facilitated weekend 5-MeO-DMT group retreats with Earthlings on an island near Vancouver. I led the volunteer team that launched the first season of the MAPS Canada podcast, and I've sat and served at Vipassana meditation centres. More about me

What people are saying.
“Brendon and Amy were so nurturing and attentive. Their incredible warmth certainly helped to ease some nerves, while their knowledge and great attention to detail reassured me I was in the right place. The experience itself was beautiful and quite gentle, yet very transformative.”
Want something deeper or more private?
If you'd like a one-on-one or small group experience, my private ceremonies take a full day, with weeks of preparation and integration around it (what that costs). Otherwise, come and meet the medicine gently.
